Why and how often should skis be maintained?

If you want your skis to glide/hold and last a long time, you need to maintain them regularly.

Ski glide/grip is a complex entity, the final result of which is influenced by several different factors. Lubrication, hand shaping and grinding are the factors that you can influence the most.

Ski Wire recommends thorough lubrication every 100-200km during training use. Grinding every 1000km, when the ski is scratched, and generally for new skis.
